Editing is the practice of preparing (written material) for publication by correcting, condensing, or otherwise modifying it.
Our editing services do two things:
- Look at writing from a broader, more-strategic lens to make sure arguments make sense, examples are relevant, and the overarching message is communicated as strongly as possible. This is commonly called “content editing” or “developmental editing.”
- Correct awkward wordings, fix grammar and typos, and format the document for consistency. This is line editing, copy editing, and proofreading.

Why Hire Editors With EditorNinja?
Hiring an editor is a lot of work, risky, and expensive.
A full-time editor costs you $6,000-$8,000 per month ($72,000-$96,000 per year). If they quit or get fired, you’re left without an editor.
EditorNinja:
- Has editors ready to integrate into your team (no more job postings);
- Employs already-vetted editors (no more interviewing);
- Costs less than hiring full-time or freelancers on your own;
- Staffs an account team that supports you through your engagement.
The summary – get qualified editing that integrates with your team so your content shines and produces results. Whether you produce six, 60, or 160 articles each month, our editors can handle it.

When our editor quit, our content agency was left needing 5,000+ words of content edited every day. We signed up quickly and had content back the next day.
They’re fast, their editors are true professionals, and I highly recommend their editing services!

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes! Whether you have a Dedicated Editor or are an On-Demand customer, you receive a Primary Editor. On-Demand accounts also have a Secondary Editor, and our Lead Editors support both.
The Primary, or Dedicated, Editor is just that – the primary person working on your content and to whom you give feedback.
Your Secondary Editor is familiar with your account and can step in if needed.
Unlike other editing companies, we don’t hire through platforms or networks like Upwork.
We’ve done the hard work of building our own network of editors who are professionally trained and vouched for by other EditorNinja editors. You literally can’t hire them anywhere else.
For all editing accounts, we create a shared Slack channel for every account. Your editors will also be in that channel, and that is the best place to give them feedback or share updates to your style guide or other preferences. Our accounts team is also in this account to help out if needed.
Absolutely, and in fact, it’s required!
For every website we edit for, we need a Style Guide that is added to your Brand Documents with EditorNinja. This is then shared with your editor.
An editor is usually up to speed on your style guide and preferences within 3-5 shorter or 1-2 longer documents .
They are professionals and have worked with many style guides, which means they know how to get to know yours!
When your first document is assigned to them, they pull up your style guide alongside it and edit to your style guide. Once the document is returned, we ask you for feedback in case there were things they missed or that were not communicated.
Every account gets two editors:
- Your Primary Editor who edits most of your requests and integrates your feedback.
- A Secondary Editor who is already familiar with your needs and can step in if needed, including if your needs increase and your Primary Editor cannot handle all of the requests.
If you ever have an issue with your editor, we’re happy to discuss it and swap in a new editor if needed!
EditorNinja editors have worked with many types of documents, especially blog posts, press releases, social media copy, newsletters, and sales pages. Discuss your specific need with our team so they can assign the right editor.
Our agreements are quarterly by default with monthly payments. We do offer discounts for six or twelve-month engagements paid in advance.
We love large documents! To get a custom price, schedule an Intro Call with our team.
